POLNI DIMORFIZAM POZICIJE FORAMENA MENTALE U POPULACIJI JUGOISTOČNE SRBIJE: CBCT STUDIJA
Sažetak
Uvod: Poznavanje precizne pozicije foramena mentale ima veliki klinički značaj u stomatologiji, zbog važnih anatomskih struktura, koje prolaze kroz ovaj foramen. Cilj ove studije je bio da se ispita polni dimorfizam horizontalne i vertikalne pozicije foramena mentale u odnosu na konstantne anatomske orijentire u populaciji jugoistočne Srbije korišćenjem kompijuterizovane tomografije konusnog zraka (CBCT).
Materijali i metode: U istraživanju je korišćeno 32 CBCT snimaka muškarca i 34 CBCT snimaka žena. Mereno je horizontalno rastojanje od prednje ivice foramena mentale do skeletne srednje linije, kao i vertikalno rastojanje od gornje i donje ivice foramena mentale do tangencijalne linije, koja dodiruje bazu mandibule.
Rezultati: Polni dimorfizam horizontalne pozicije foramena mentale je uočen na desnoj strani (t=3,69; p<0,001). Kada je vertikalna pozicija merena od gornje ivice foramena, polni dimorfizam je uočen na levoj (t=4,31; p<0,001) i na desnoj strani (t=4,22; p<0,001), što je bio slučaj i kada je merenje sprovođeno od donje ivice foramena na levoj (t=5,61; p<0,001) i na desnoj strani (t=4,01; p<0,001).
Zaključak: Uočeni polni dimorfizam pozicije foramena mentale može olakšati izvođenje stomatoloških tretmana i hirurških intervencija na mandibuli, kod pacijenata različitog pola.
