DEPRESIJA I TUMORI MOZGA

Depresija je veoma čest komorbiditet kod pacijenata sa tumorom mozga. Bolje razumevanje uzajamnog odnosa između tumora mozga i depresije bi poboljšalo kvalitet života pacijenata sa ovim dijagnozama. Lečenje samih tumora je često povezano sa depresijom. Depresija ima značajan negativan uticaj na ishod bolesti kod pacijenta sa tumorom mozga. Uloga lečenja depresije kod tumora mozga je posebno ispitivana. Mnoge od karakteristika tumora mozga-veličina tumora, lokalizacija, histopatologija se istražuju u vezi sa njihovim mogućim uticajima na depresiju. Dalja istraživanja povezana sa deficitom znanja u ovim oblastima bi trebalo da donesu benefit pacijentima sa moždanim tumorima. Cilj rada je da stvori bolje razumevanje pitanja depresije u populaciji pacijenata sa tumorima mozga. Ovaj cilj je značajan jer je depresija veoma česta komplikacija ili komorbiditet u bolesnika sa tumorima mozga.
