Borim se, dakle postojim: Faktori uspešnosti studenata romske nacionalnosti u Srbiji

Sažetak


Uprkos unapređenju inkluzivnih politika i praksi, studenti romske nacionalnosti su i dalje nedovoljno zastupljeni u visokom obrazovanju (VO) u Srbiji. Cilj ove studije je bio da se utvrde kontekstualni i lični faktori uspešnosti romskih studenata i da se definišu preporuke za unapređenje inkluzivnosti visokog obrazovanja. Učesnici studije bili su Romi koji studiraju na četiri državna univerziteta u Srbiji koji su popunili upitnik o svom porodičnom poreklu i iskustvima tokom školovanja, učestvovali u intervjuima o obrazovnim putanjama i u dvodnevnoj radionici posvećenoj osnaživanju studenata kroz refleksiju o obrazovnim putanjama i ličnim snagama. Kvalitativna tematska analiza otvorenih pitanja iz 89 upitnika, 20 intervjua i proizvoda 16 učesnika radionice pokazala je da su porodični i školski izazovi, kao što su gubitak roditelja, disfunkcionalni odnosi u porodici i vršnjačko zlostavljanje, poslužili kao podstrek za lični rast u slučaju da je postojala bar jedna značajna osoba koja je pružala podršku. Stipendije i afirmativne mere pri upisu takođe su bili važni faktori uspeha. Životna gesla studenata su pretežno sadržavala teme borbe i upornosti. Većina ličnih snaga odnosila se na proaktivnost i optimizam a proizilazile su iz podrške koju su studenti dobijali od značajnih drugih. Ovo ukazuje na visoko razvijen psihološki kapital romskih studenata. Pored stalne finansijske podrške, studenti su istakli da bi pružanje kontinuirane psihosocijalne podrške, prilika za neformalno učenje i mogućnosti za vršnjačko mentorstvo i umrežavanje dovelo do veće zastupljenosti studenata romske nacionalnosti u visokom obrazovanju.
