Vol. 2 No. 2 (2023): Management of post-conflict areas with special reference to the Land Security Zone in the Republic of Serbia

The formal end of NATO aggression in 1999 was marked by the signing of the Military Technical Agreement, which regulated certain military and security obligations of the Republic of Serbia and the international armed forces (KFOR) in order to achieve peace in the area of Kosovo and Metohija. However, in the previous period, a number of security incidents were recorded in the form of a violent incursion of Albanian extremists into the Terrestrial Security Zone and an armed attack on members of the armed forces of the Republic of Serbia, which raises a number of questions regarding the sustainability of the existing international legal solution to the growing crisis. Apart from security threats, the management of KZB involves monitoring a number of cultural, religious, economic, ecological and other aspects of the life of the population living in this area.
