Pandemija COVID-19 je potvrdila tvrdnju Alana Ingrama (2005) da je bolest geopolitičko pitanje. Mnogi autori su potvrdili da države, naročito one najmoćnije (SAD, Kina, Rusija) koriste trenutnu globalnu krizu za jačanje njihovog uticaja širom sveta u skladu sa njihovim geopolitičkim, ekonomskim i vojnim aspiracijama. Cilj ovog rada je da istraži da li u iste svrhe koriste i vakcine protiv COVID-19. Primenjeni metodi su geopolitički pristup, komparativni metod i kvalitativna analiza sadržaja prikupljenih izjava državnika i medijskog diskursa u periodu od 13. decembra 2020. do 13. februara 2021. Nalazi istraživanja potvrđuju da su vakcine postale geopolitičko sredstvo. Usled novog hladnog rada "supermoćnika vakcina", svet je postao podeljen na Zapadni i Istočni "vakcinski blok". Ipak, u pozadini ovog "rata vakcina", nazire se mogućnost buduće kooperacije Zapada i Istoka u vidu ujedinjavanja snaga u proizvodnji vakcina.
