Sažetak
Rodna ravnopravnost predstavlja jedan od primarnih prediktora mira i važan globalni cilj održivog razvoja. Istovremeno, može se koristiti da da legitimitet ratu i inostranim intervencijama. Tradicionalna disciplina međunarodnih odnosa retko uzima u obzir rod, iako postoji niz dokaza koji sugerišu da je rod jedan od ključnih bezbednosnih aspekata, posebno u traženju odgovora na to šta se smatra bezbednošću i čija je bezbednost važna. Kao što Lora Sjoberg (Laura Sjoberg) primećuje, rod je bio odsutan u ključnim časopisima o bezbednosnim studijama, kao što je časopis Security Studies, koji je počeo da objavljuje termine žene i rod tek sredinom 2000-ih.
