Focus and Scope

The Serbian Journal of Experimental and Clinical Research (SJECR) is well established journal for the rapid publication of original medical, pre-clinical and clinical research. It is published on-line and in print four times per year by Faculty of Medicine University of Kragujevac.

The SJECR is financially supported by Ministry for Science and Environmental Protection, Republic of Serbia.

Articles across the whole range of pre-clinical, clinical and medical research are welcome, also including animal pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, toxicology, teratology and clinical trials.

Types of articles published can include:

  • Original, full length pre-clinical, clinical and medical research
  • Short, preliminary pre-clinical, clinical and medical research
  • Pilot studies
  • Reviews
  • Concise reports
  • New indications and new formulations of established products
  • Pharmacoeconomic studies
  • Managed care studies
  • Post-marketing surveillance studies

Symposium proceedings, summaries of presentations or collections of medical, pre-clinical or clinical data on a specific topic can also be published as Supplements and enquiries from potential sponsors of these are welcome.

 

The journal serves an international audience of scientists and clinicians in a variety of research, academic, and clinical practice settings by quickly disseminating research findings. All articles published in The Serbian Journal of Experimental and Clinical Research are freely available on-line at http://www.medf.kg.ac.yu/sjecr.

 

Peer Review Process

Articles submitted for publication are peer reviewed by and the criteria for acceptance are the scientific quality of the work described and suitability of the content within the journal’s Aims and Scope.

All manuscripts are peer reviewed for clinical relevance, technical accuracy, methodologic rigor, clarity, and objectivity by the Editor-in-Chief and by at least two reviewers, independent specialists. The decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of a paper is communicated to the corresponding author in writing, usually within 2 to 3 weeks of receipt of the manuscript.

All studies should have the approval of a relevant ethics committee. Patients should have given written informed consent and animal experiments should conform to standard animal treatment guidelines. Details of these requirements should be clearly stated in the Methods section.

Accepted papers with page charge funds can be published in approximately 8 weeks from acceptance and faster online.

Approved papers can be published in approximately 8 weeks from acceptance and faster online. This publication speed, particularly on-line, means that articles are available and referenceable within weeks rather than months.

Publication Frequency

The Journal items are published collectively, as part of an issue with its own Table of Contents

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle of the signed contracts with the publishers.
