Teorija racionalnog izbora i dobrotvorna davanja

Sažetak


Ovaj rad se fokusira na teoriju racionalnog izbora i njen potencijal da objasni pro-socijalno ponašanje, preciznije dobrotvorno davanje, definisano neprofitnim organizacijama. Prema ovoj teoriji, kada odlučuju da doniraju novac, racionalni pojedinci primenjuju princip maksimizacije korisnosti. Tri motiva pokreću racionalne pojedince prilikom doniranja novca: 1) lični interes i „prosvećeni” lični interes; 2) prosocijalne preferencije; 3) recipročnost. Iako teorija racionalnog izbora dopušta različite motive, oni su svi izraženi u vidu korisnosti za donosioca odluka. Ovaj rad pokazuje da, mada se čini da teorija racionalnog izbora može svako ponašanje da objasni, zapravo ne objašnjava mnogo. Ponašanje se ne može shvatiti bez uzimanja u obzir složenosti ljudske motivacije, kao i socijalnih i institucionalnih faktora koji oblikuju naše izbore.
