Sažetak
Урбано планирање и развој су процеси који се могу посматрати са много различитих аспеката. Једно од најважнијих питања у вези са урбанистичким планирањем и развојем тиче се стварања система који обезбеђује одрживи урбани развој. Функционалност оваквог система мери се пре свега његовим капацитетом да обезбеди урбани развој који је у складу са еколошким, друштвеним и економским захтевима савременог живљења. Постизање оваквих циљева захтева балансирање јавних и приватних интереса који се често сукобљавају. Иако постоји много фактора који доприносе функционалности система, овај рад се фокусира на регулативу која се односи на урбано планирање и развој и њену улогу у одрживом урбаном развоју. Главни фокус истраживања овог рада је регулисање урбанистичког планирања и развоја у македонском правном систему и његов капацитет да створи правичну равнотежу између јавних и приватних интереса у потрази за одрживим урбаним развојем.
