Terapeutske strategije za rak u kasnoj antici: Dokazi iz Medicinskog zbornika Aetija iz Amide
Sažetak
Ovaj članak ispituje terapijsko lečenje malignih bolesti u medicinskom zborniku Aetija iz Amide, tretirajući Tetrabiblon kao dokaz za kasnoantičku medicinsku praksu, a ne samo kao spremište nasleđene teorije. Fokusirajući se na odlomke koji se tiču karcinoma dojke i materice, analizira dijagnostički opis, hirurške kriterijume, postoperativnu negu i farmakološki tretman. Članak tvrdi da Aetije čuva koherentan terapijski okvir strukturiran oko dijagnostičke klasifikacije, anatomske pristupačnosti, prognostičke procene i humoralne regulacije koji određuju izbor između ekscizije, kauterizacije i palijativne nege. Studija dalje pokazuje da Aetijev farmakološki materijal, koji kombinuje botaničke, mineralne i supstance životinjskog porekla, odražava praktičan i na simptome orijentisan pristup malignim bolestima. To sugeriše da su kasnoantički lekari posedovali nijansiranije praktično razumevanje progresije tumora i terapijskih ograničenja nego što se često pretpostavlja.
