Da li postoje problemi u pogledu zaštite konkurencije povezani sa lažnim vestima tokom COVID-19?
Sažetak
Lažne vesti privlače sve veću pažnju zbog interneta i razvoja internet platformi i društvenih mreža, naročito u doba COVID-19. Nagla popularizacija ovog termina dovodi do važnih problema u pogledu uticaja ovog fenomena na društvo i demokratiju, kao i na potrošače, konkurenciju i tržište.
Pitanje je šta se dešava kada se lažne vesti šire (putem intereneta) i zloupotrebljavaju tokom pandemije – da li primeniti pravo konkurencije Evropske unije u takvim slučajevima? Autor smatra da Evropska komisija ne treba da se bavi izazovima lažnih vesti u kontekstu mogućih ponašanja koje narušavaju konkurenciju. U radu se ukazuje na to da lažne vesti nisu problem zaštite konkurencije, zato što je borba protiv lažnih vesti problem sadržaja, a ne konkurencije i tržišne moći.
