Ширење и значај ијатричких култова у античком периоду са посебним освртом на Асклепијев култ и његово поштовање у Наису

Sažetak

У раду је начињен покушај да се укаже на значај који су имали ијатрички култови у периоду антике, пре свих најраспрострањенији и најдуже поштован култ бога Асклепија. Осим што смо указали на митове и предања који расветљавају порекло култа, посебно смо се осврнули на то где се култ ширио и колики и какав значај је имала близина извора воде у процесу излечења. Култови Асклепија и Хигије, а пре њих и Херакла, Аполона и Артемиде у највећој мери су везани за места која имају извесна исцелитељска својства. Једно од таквих места био је и Наис, тачније његово предграђе Медијана, које је због своје близине топлим изворима воде у Нишкој бањи послужило као место где ће бити формирано светилиште посвећено богу Асклепију и где је, претпоставља се, спровођен процес излечења.
