Typological analysis and revitalization models of the traditional architecture of Gora for the purpose of achieving socioeconomic sustainability / candidate: Vesnera Šerefi
Abstract
This Master’s thesis explores the traditional architecture of Gora as an endangered heritage and a resource for contemporary development. Through a typological analysis of residential structures, the traditional Goran house is redefined as an adaptable system with the potential for revitalization. The research combines fieldwork with an analytical-design approach, focusing on the socio-economic sustainability of the community. The practical part of the study presents restoration models for five traditional buildings in the village of Kruševo, interconnected through the "Kruševo Loop" network. The proposed concept affirms minimal interventions and a local economy, proving that architectural heritage can serve as an active bearer of identity and rural regeneration.
