Abstract

The third industrial revolution made an impact on digitalization of educational technologies long time ago. Although on the sidelines of educational system, the process of computerisation has implicated certain disciplines of solfeggio teaching. Accordingly, the subject of this research is digitalisation of solfeggio teaching, with particular focus on the teaching disciplines sight singing and reading. Application Sight Reading Factory has been taken as a referent sample for the research. The software is analysed and tested from the aspect of solfeggio teaching which is conducted in accordance with methodological procedures of Zorislava M. Vasiljevic.

Besides qualitative research, the scope of applicability of the application Sight Reading Factory is measured in the paper by means of Likert numerical scale. Based on the analysis of the contents and tests, the results indicate that modules of representative sample are the best ones to work with when it comes to sight singing and reading and that they can play a significant role in improving the quality and modernisation of teaching the most complex disciplines of the process of musical improvement. The working hypothesis on limited application of this software was also proved for use in solfeggio teaching based on Combined functional method. Therefore, certain modifications and the creation of additional modules for the processing and determination of teaching content are needed in order to comprehend a complete solffegio teaching with only one software. In accordance with the above, the analyzed software should be complemented by the following disciplines: Dictation, Intonation, Theory of Music and Children's Music Creation. Surely, the elements of the work Melodic and Rhythm should be complemented with the missing disciplines  which are applied in teaching in our pedagogical region. Using such corrected, Sight Reading Factory applications in the teaching of music literacy, conditions would be created for the modernization and digitization of existing teaching, which should result in improving the quality of the process of music literacy, its rationalization, individualization as well as increasing the efficiency of teaching work.

Within final consideration, this paper indicates that application of this software can achieve correlation between solfeggio and other musical subjects, that cooperativeness among teachers can be improved and that it is possible to deliver teaching after the principle of concentric circles instead of linear principle which is mostly used in traditional teaching.

Finally, digitization is a complex, comprehensive and demanding process that, when changing one element of the teaching process requires modernization of all other segments of educational work. Therefore, the correction and modernization of only one segment of the teaching process cannot represent a comprehensive and essential reform. The modernization of all factors requires a clear and defined education policy, visions and the aspiration of national policy to invest resources in modern teaching and educational infrastructure necessary for the implementation of ICT in educational systems.
