Sažetak
Позитивне обавезе су обавезе држава потписница Европске конвенције за заштиту људских права и основних слобода да активно делују како би заштитиле права гарантована овом Конвенцијом. Када је реч о заштити права на живот, као једног од основних људских права, случај McCann and others v. the United Kingdom представљао је прецедент и њиме су успостављене нове обавезе држава потписница Конвенције када је реч о планирању и спровођењу операција припадника извршних органа. Начин на који су те обавезе успостављене, њихов обим и садржај, као и реакције правне теорије али и праксе на ову иновативну пресуду, предмет су анализе овог рада.
