Journal Resuscitatio Balcanica is a leading journal dedicated to advancing the science and practice of resuscitation in the Balkan region and beyond. Since its inception, the journal has served as a key platform for the exchange of research, guidelines, and experiences in the field of resuscitation, with a special focus on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Given the journal’s achievements to date and its unique position as the only journal in Southeast Europe dealing with these issues, we believe that switching to English is a logical step towards internationalization and expanding its influence. By publishing papers in English, the journal will become more accessible to a wider international audience, enabling researchers from different parts of the world to share their knowledge and experiences. Internationalization of the journal brings numerous advantages. First of all, the visibility of published papers increases, which can lead to a higher number of citations and recognition of authors on a global level. International collaboration can also result in a richer exchange of knowledge, methodologies and best practices, which is essential for the advancement of resuscitation. In addition, switching to English can attract a wider range of authors and reviewers, increasing the quality and diversity of published papers. This will allow the journal to cover a wider range of topics and perspectives, reflecting global trends and challenges in the field of resuscitation. Of course, this transition requires careful planning and implementation. It is necessary to provide adequate linguistic support for authors whose native language is not English, as well as to establish a network of international reviewers who can contribute to maintaining the high standards of the journal. It is also important to maintain the regional identity and focus of the journal, while opening its doors to the global community. In conclusion, the transition of the Journal Resuscitatio Balcanica to English represents a strategic step towards internationalization and enhancing its impact in the global scientific community. As the only journal in Southeast Europe dedicated to resuscitation, we have a unique opportunity to become a bridge between regional and international researchers, contributing to the advancement of the science and practice of resuscitation on a global scale.
