MENTALNO ZDRAVLJE STUDENATA TOKOM PANDEMIJE COVID-19

Sažetak


Svetska javnost se 2019. godine prvi put suočila sa bolešću COVID-19, kada je novi virus SARS-CoV-2 identifikovan u kineskom gradu Vuhanu. Pandemijska razmera novog korona virusa, dovela je do najveće javnozdravstvene krize na globalnom nivou u poslednjih sto godina, dok je poseban izazov postavljen pred profesionalce koji se bave očuvanjem mentalnog zdravlja i studente koji su zbog mera ograničenja kretanja posebno bili pogođeni. Bolest COVID-19 je respiratorna infekcija, a SARS-CoV-2 je virus iz grupe RNK virusa. Period inkubacije virusa iznosi između dva i četrnaest dana, a prenos je veoma lak i brz. Najčešći simptom ove bolesti je groznica. Pandemija bolesti COVID-19 negativno je delovala na mentalno zdravlje studenata širom sveta i studentkinje su svoje mentalno zdravlje procenjivale lošije u odnosu na studente. U glavne probleme psihološke prirode može se svrstati pre svega povišen nivo depresije, anksioznosti i stresa kao odgovor na pandemiju COVID-19. Depresija se češće sreće kod studenata koji više brinu za svoje zdravlje, kod studenata ženskog pola i onih sa lošijim socio-ekonomskim statusom. Takođe, osobe koje su bile u kontaktu sa zaraženim osobama imaju ozbiljnije depresivne reakcije u odnosu na one koje nisu imale takav kontakt. Kada govorimo o anksioznim reakcijama, studenti ih na početku svojih studija češće doživljavaju i intenzivnije su u odnosu na studente starijih godina studija. Studentska populacija pokazala je takođe i visoke nivoe stresnih reakcija, koji se češće javljaju kod studentkinja, kao i kod onih studenata koji dolaze iz urbanih gradskih sredina. Ipak, problemi sa mentalnim zdravljem mogu se prevazići ako se studentima obezbedi neki vid socijalne podrške ili konsultacija.
