Sažetak


 

Sistemski eritemski lupus (SEL) je sistemsko autoimunsko zapaljensko obolenje koje nastaje u kompleksnoj intereakciji genetskih i faktora sredine. Virusi su odavno prepoznati kao važni faktori u patogenezi lupusa, posebno Epštajn-Bar virus (EBV). Veza između EBV i SEL je predložena još 70-tih godina, i od tada sve veći broj dokaza potkrepljuje ovu vezu. U ovom mini preglednom članku sumiramo trenutna saznanja o ulozi EBV u SEL, fokusirajući se na disregulaciju imunskog odgovora na EBV i mehanizme indukcije autoimunosti posredovane EBV kod pacijenata sa SEL.
