Abstract

SUMMARY

The ruderal flora (lat. rudus, ruderis = ruble) is one of the youngest and most dynamic floristic-vegetation complexes. The anthropogenic conditionality, pronounced dynamism, microfragmentation in its distribution and great morpho-anatomical variability of its cenobionts are its important characteristics. Floristic composition and stage of development of the ruderal flora and vegetation are important data in seeing all consequences of more intensive process of global urbanization and high level of destruction of natural habitats.

During the floristic researches of ruderal flora conducted on the territory of the town Kičevo , there has been established the presence of 290 taxa of vascular plants, classfied into 207 genera, 59 families and three classes. In the ruderal flora of Kičevo, the most represented are taxa from the most numerous families in the flora of North Macedonia, Asteraceae (41), Poaceae (26), and Fabaceae (25).

The total of eighteen genera were recorded with three or more taxa, and the genera with largest number of taxa are: Vicia (6), Trifolium (5), Geranium, Veronica, Euphorbia, Rumex, Linaria, Ranunculus (4). Majority of the species which belong to these genera are characteristic indicators of tertiary ruderal vegetation.

The analysis of the representation of certain life forms has determined the hemicryptophyto-therophite character of ruderal flora (H= 43,10% T= 36,55%). The subdominant presence of therophytes is directly correlated with the instability of the ruderal habitats caused bt the anthropogenic activities.

By analysing ecological indices for five main ecological factors, we determined a domination of plants that prefer full daily light (heliophytes) regarding a light regime, mesothermic to thermophilic regarding temperature regime, submesophyte to subxerophyte regarding a water regime, neutro-basophile to neutrophilic regarding a soil reaction and oligo-mesotrophic regarding to levels of nutritiens.
