Istorijat primene gonadotropina u kontrolisanoj ovarijalnoj stimulaciji u postupku vantelesne oplodnje

Sažetak
Otkriće gonadotropina omogućilo je shvatanje kompleksnosti i savršenosti procesa involviranih u humanu reprodukciju. Ubrzo su nađeni načini da se gonadotropini upotrebe u lečenju žena sa problemom amenoreje, anovulacija i infertiliteta. Ovaj pregledni rad ima za cilj da pruži osnovne faktografske i istorijske činjenice vezane za razvoj i primenu gonadotropina u medicini. Zanimljiv zaplet koji je pratio istorijat razvoja komercijalnih preparata gonadotropina razrešen je sticajem srećnih okolnosti, a razrešenje je omogućilo široku komercijalnu upotrebu već postojećih preparata i dalo zamajac i podsticaj za nastanak novih tehnoloških naprednih metoda koje podrazumevaju i primenu genetskog inženjeringa.
