Sažetak


Ovaj rad detalјno istražuje glavne teme, koje su se pojavile u akademskom izučavanju spolјnih odnosa sub-državnih entiteta. Na početku, rad istražuje definicije spolјnih odnosa i međunarodnih aktivnosti federativnih jedinica i regiona i daje kratak istorijski pregled kada i kako su se sub-državne jedinice pojavile na međunarodnoj sceni; drugim riječima, rad razmatra osnove za njihovo međunarodno prisustvo i prikazuje kako su promjene u međunarodnim odnosima storile prostor za nove aktere. Rad dalјe analizira zašto federativne jedinice i regioni stupaju u spolјne odnose, uklјučujući njihove motive, pobude i strategije. Rad takođe istražuje ulogu nacionalizma i separatizma u međunarodnim aktivnostima federativnih jedinica i regiona. Kakve su reakcije centralnih vlasti i koje mjere mogu da poduzmu protiv sub-državnih jedinica takođe se razmatraju u ovom radu. Učešće regiona i federativnih jedinica u međunarodnim organizacijama analiziraju se takođe u ovom radu.
